This was discussed briefly in the postscript to a post from a couple of weeks ago. I neglected to say anything about it in this most recent post. To be honest, it’s worthwhile to upload something dedicated to it: I would love to make a second issue of the Letters to the Editor mailbag series that we started last year.
Originally this had been intended for release sometime in February where there is still a minor lull in the music world. However, considering my lack of marketing savvy, I need to extend the window to a deadline of, if not March 1st, at least sometime in the first week of March. This will allow time for both submissions as well as a response on my part. This timing will allow for a post to go out around March 15th or so.
The idea of Letters to the Editor is an opportunity for the readership to reach out to me and ask questions about music, or anything else that strikes your fancy. Past topics have included scholarly questions about the relationship between western music and country, asking what my methods are for discovering music, or my thoughts on Beyonce’srecent music. All sorts of different and intriguing questions are asked. Rest assured there will be no pat quick answers-the answers will be thorough, thought through, and your questions will be taken seriously.
I look forward to seeing your submissions. We're looking at a rough deadline of March 1st, but with a grace period extending till about March 7th or so. Please feel free to submit more than one question. I will most likely only choose one of them, but if the questions are really good, you never know. If you want to see what this looked like last year, I will link to the two part series from last year.
I look forward to seeing your questions!
-Joe
